EcoGrip Type 1 | Cold Applied High Friction Surfacing

EcoGrip Type 1 cold applied high friction surfacing is a BBA/HAPAS approved surfacing system which comprises an odourless, low toxicity two-part epoxy binder system dressed with road grade calcined bauxite.  With rapid curing times, EcoGrip cold applied high friction surfacing can be laid quickly and easily over both old and new road surfaces, minimising traffic disruption and traffic management costs.

The bonded surface dressing of calcined bauxite aggregate delivers a sustainable and durable surface ideal for use in highly trafficked, high stress areas.  Type 1 high friction surfacing is proven to reduce accidents and save lives by reducing braking distance and improving vehicle control. The EcoGrip Type 1 cold applied high friction surfacing system is a cost effective way to dramatically improve skid resistance in both wet and dry conditions on higher risk roads and crossings.

Compliances/Approvals

EcoGrip Type 1 is a BBA/HAPAS Approved product. EcoGrip Type 1 system must only be installed by BBA approved operatives.

Typical Uses

EcoGrip Type 1 is suitable for all roads where the highest levels of skid resistance are required. It is particularly suitable for use on asphaltic surfaces with texture depths of between 0.5mm and 2mm. EcoGrip Type 1 is used to improve safety in such locations as:

 

  • Highly trafficked, high stress areas
  • Sharp bends, junctions and motorway slip roads
  • Roundabout and pedestrian crossing approaches
  • Accident black spots
