Somerford Equipment Delivers Two New Vehicles to Hi-Way Services Ltd

Hi-Way Services has over 30 years’ experience in providing specialist road marking services, providing a range of road marking services to County Councils, large civil engineering companies, household name developers and retailers across the country.   In early February 2018, Hi-Ways extended their current fleet with two new vehicles from Somerford Equipment.

Whatever the road marking challenge Hi-Way Services has the solution and to help them with that solution Hi-Way have been buying Somerford vehicles for many years. “This will be the 16th and 17th vehicle we have brought in from Somerford Equipment and every single one has been a brilliant servant to us,” stated Hi-Ways’ contract manager Danny O’Reilly. “We have built up a reputation over the years for delivering an outstanding and on schedule service.  Our customers rely and trust us to complete projects on time and Somerford vehicles have helped us to build our reputation with their proven reliability and performance,” continued Danny.

Hi-Way has added two vehicles that will work in conjunction with each other for the application of spray, extrusion and profiled thermoplastic road markings.  Somerford’s versatile Multi-Mark works with the supply vehicle for the initial supply of molten material whilst the Multi-Mark is laying the road markings. Application methods are easily interchangeable and can be utilised in a variety of widths and configurations.  There is even a computer-controlled pattern generator which is monitored and controlled via the on-board operator stations.  The Multi-Mark build is fitted to a specially adapted DAF LF 260 Bhp 4x2 rigid complete with dual controls, engine driven PTO and vertical exhaust conversion to enable thermoplastic markings to be applied from both sides of the vehicle.

The vehicles are all equipped with the latest LED night lights, traffic control arrows unit and Chapter 8 compliant high-visibility markings to enhance safety for crews and road users alike. The new Euro-6 vehicles also comply with the latest safety and working practices and are fully compliant with stringent Type Approval legislation.  In addition, with railings around the vehicles in all operator accessible areas, they meet Safe Working-at-Height requirements.

Michael Oakes, General Manager of Somerford Equipment concluded: “It is always a pleasure working closely with customers like Hi-Way Services to deliver such high standard vehicles that are relied on day to day on the roads.  We try to not only build vehicles, but to build relationships with customers by showing that Somerford Equipment is focused on bringing efficient, safe and innovative designs that lead the way in our industry.”
